If I had known college was going to be this much fun, I would have done it decades ago.
But I have this feeling that decades ago, it wasn’t this much fun. In fact, I would love to take a peek at a 1985 Introduction to Psychology textbook. If anyone has one laying around, send it my way? I’ll compare it to the book I have from the course - and kept because I enjoyed it so much.
My current Summer School class, The Art of Storytelling is fascinating. All online, we students participate in discussions and provide feedback on the stories we tell. On Video, and I’m loving it.
It can be a little nerve-racking to be on video telling a story, definitely different from podcasting. In podcasting, no one can tell if I’ve got visual prompts to keep the story on track. Yes, it is noticeable when I’m reading from a script, but in radio, it works to keep the uncomfortable silent spaces to a minimum.
Telling a story while people are watching you is different. And without visual aides, it can be difficult…
