Do you sometimes feel every time you make a commitment, to yourself or to others, something happens to screw it up?
Welcome to my world.
Last month I promised myself and my dear readers I would write more. And once a month I would share everything I’ve done in the form of stories, essays, and books.
In April I wrote and published a daily Haiku in Prolific Pulse on Medium. My friend and 2022’s Garden of Neuro Poet Laureate, Lisa Tomey opened my eyes to poetry, and habits and I turned out some pretty good stuff.
Then I spent some time doing some heavy editing on Dystopian Diaries. This work of fiction is shaping up to be a better, albeit different story. It’s both fun and depressing to write it, in a funny, yeah, not so funny kind of way, which is probably why the next idea came to me.
It was at the end of a Let’s Publish gathering where I meet with two other women, both of whom are working on memoirs, both about difficult topics. And here I am working on a fiction piece. I realized I was working on the wrong book with this group, what I should be writing is Red Flags or Flowers.
