I love spring for a couple of reasons. It starts on my birthday. It’s Strawberry season in southern California, the Sonoran desert blooms and it’s National Poetry Month
Before meeting Lisa Tommey-Zonneveld, the solopreneur at Prolific Pulse Press, I had dabbled in poetry, and not much of it rhymed. And with her guidance, daily prompts, and calls for submissions, my interest and body of poetic work have grown.
For the second year in a row, I’m writing a poem a day on Medium. Last year I focused on Haiku. This year I’ve been creating longer, more free-flowing verses. But still, not much of rhymes. Maybe that will be my quest for next year.
